Burnt Ends Pear Burner BBQ Sauce

Combining heat and flavour in a BBQ sauce is no small feat as the sugar content has a tendency to interfere with the heat. This sauce does very well, bringing forward a smoky sweetness that balances nicely against the sting of the Scorpion pepper. As opposed to many commercial sauces this one is also very low in sodium, only 1%!

Ingredients: Ketchup (tomato concentrate from ripe red tomatoes, distilled vinegar, cane sugar, salt, onion powder, spice, natural flavorings), molasses, pears, cider vinegar, brown sugar, tomato paste, water, spices, Scorpion peppers, prickly pear puree, natural smoke flavoring, black pepper, granulated garlic, kosher salt.
